Fashion Show

The Design department Fashion Show is now in its fifth year and has become one of SJS most anticipated events. With the help of Annual Giving, we have been able to put together a world class event, featuring:

  • Staging designed by Panther Enterprises, who have designed stages for U2, The Rolling Stones, and numerous Broadway productions.
  • Runway presentation and teaching to students on how to walk and present themselves with a positive and outgoing stage personas. This was coordinated by one of Canada’s top runway models, Naomi Hughes-Hall.
  • Make-up and hair design by Blanche Mcdonald and John Casablanca Designs.
  • Lighting and audiovisual presentation enabled by Annual Giving’s generous support of the SJS Student Audiovisual Service Club.

The Design department Fashion Show is a presentation of the Communities Connection Unit of the Design curriculum. The show is highly inclusive of the SJS student body and includes the work of over 230 students of the MYP program at SJS. The show is designed by students and includes previous design graduates of SGS, parent volunteers and, this year, we will be featuring PYP siblings. The show is the visualization of criteria C and criteria D, the creating and the evaluation/reflection of the product utilizing the design cycle
